Conyers’s wife cops plea to federal bribery charges — as Conyers drops probe of ACORN
Travel back in time now to March 20th of this year, when John Conyers shocked the world by declaring at a committee hearing that it was time to investigate charges that Team Obama had slipped ACORN a list of its donors to be hit up for donations. I was bowled over; if you read the story, so were you. Why would a hard-left liberal Democrat threaten to make trouble for the guy who’s, er … in charge of the people who are prosecuting his wife?
You’ll be glad to know that, as of this morning, on the very day his wife’s copped a plea to federal charges, he’s no longer threatening to make trouble. Evidently the “powers that be” oppose it. Ace reads between the lines and figures this means Mrs. C’s sentence will be no longer than three months. I’d guess 60 days. Exit question: Think Barry appreciates Conyers’s ability to play hardball “the Chicago way”?
